Pictures soon. Today the Irish lads in the office brought in some Hurling sticks and gave a demonstration for the Chinese teams at lunch. Before long everyone was having a go and smacking the ball with varying levels of success. It was a great way to spend an hour, and the winners who hit the ball the furthest (I would have come second but was disqualified for having 3 hits not 2), won a couple of GAA jerseys.
Tonight we are off for a bbq and then a Ceili and session at an Irish pub. Giddyup!
For those keeping track at home, I’m in Shanghai for work, a very interesting city, and I’m having lots of fun learning Mandarin.

Last Friday I found a briefcase on my train to work, it contained a book and a folder which was a very important legal document required by the lawyer who’d dropped it that day.

It’s official! Last night Lyle Kennedy and myself were confirmed as Greens’ candidates for Ashfield Coucil. We’ll join current councillor Mark Rerceretnam campaigning for the next two months and hope to increase the green vote and maintain three councillors for the Greens on council.
I’ve been running for about 5 weeks now, I had a week of sick and don’t always make it to the gym or out for a run, but overall I’ve gone from doing 60 seconds of running with a 90 second walk, to a 3 minute run and a 3 minute walk. Sure in my 25-30 minute workout I’m only running for 9 minutes, but a month ago to even contemplate me running for 3 minutes at a sustained pace of 10kph was laughable. I’ve gone from 104kgs in mid June to 97kgs which I usually think of as my average weight. Now I’ve got my sites set on 85 to 90kgs and a comfortable 34 to 36″ waist by the end of September.
